I just found this on one of the US boards I look at-just an alternative to add to the neverending list! I see they have an acetone free one similar to the Contest Colour Phil sells. I'm not sure if they ship outside the US but I will find out: www.elitecompetitiontan.com

Of course I am bias because I am the NZ distributor for Phil's products but be aware with anything to do with importing customs are now very strict. Delays can be 4-6 weeks with products like this because its a popular cover up in getting drugs into the country.
What also can seem like a good deal may not be once you convert it and add postage.
Also most state sites won't refund you if the parcel gets lost. Its very much BUYER BEWARE!

I've been buying from bb.com for 3-4 years now and apart from the occasional hold up with customs opening the parcels, everything has always got through. Dream Tan is still cheaper buying it from bb.com-I'm not paying $55-60 here when I can get it for $45 there !
Andrea, this is a bit more expensive than some of the local products but several ladies I know have used it in the US and were thrilled with the results!

What product do you Lisa or Phil recommend for people with dark skin...ie black or islander? I am not dark enough to get away with not using skin toning products.

You will be surpised, but just about all black guys use some type of tanning aid. Roc Shabazz, recently in Australia for the Pro show, took back to the US a heap of Contest Colour. He said it was the greatest colour for him. For you, you might only need some Body Shimmer..........I know of quite a few islanders are happy with just that. You could also have a couple of coats of Contest Colour, or a combination of both. Depends on how dark you are to start with & how dark you want to get. Phil

Another tanning product!!!!! but we have the best products right here. Beckie, wash your mouth out, bad girl LMAO ;D Sorry, I tried Protan the first time I competed in 1997, it was shit made me look like a grub. 1998 I tried Contest Colour and have never used anything else since. I'm biased, Since switching from Dream Tan to Phil's Shimmer 2 years ago I wouldn't use Dream Tan to polish my boots even it just don't stick.

Thanks for that Phil ;D What do you normally use Ric? Hi, In the past I tried Jan Tana and Dream Tan. Jan Tana was far too light and I was washed out onstage, dream tan was far too messy and staining. So, I normally use just what Phil mentioned. I first put on two to three coats of the Phil's base tan ...then I put on Body Shimmer (one coat). I have found that it works good for me and in the lights I have a deep reddish brown sheen ...which is what I want.

Can you get body Shimmer in the US Phil?? I have several clients that may be interested! I used Contest colour for my first show and it was a GREAT colour esp for fairer skin tones!

I have an agent in New York who buys a lot of Contest Colour from me, sells mainly to dancers. They have not ordered any Body Shimmer yet, but I sell a little bit through my web site, direct to people. Ask Lisa, she might be able to help you here.
