I had a query from a Polynesian competitor today-he wanted to know what the Shimmer tan looks like on a darker skin tone? I found it a more gold-y colour than the Dream tan so am interested to hear what you guys think!

It can vary from person to person, depending on the colour underneath. Unlike Dream tan, which is quite opaque & gives you a more uniform colour all over. Body Shimmer is more translucent, so you can see more base colour through the Body Shimmer. This allows the lighting to show more highlights & shadows on the physique (3D effect)....... so helps to avoid the soft flat look which can appear with Dream Tan. End result can also depend on how thick it is applied on the day of the show, also type of lighting used at the show. Best way to see Body Shimmers natural colour is to apply some on your body & view it in natural sunlight...........no artifical light at all.
DO NOT LOOK AT IT IN THE CONTAINER...........it has a different colour on the surface, before it is applied.

thanks so much! Alot of these Polynesian guys have been using Dream Tan only with no base at all so I guess if they wanted to use Shimmer Tan they would need some kind of base first regardless of their natural skin colour?

Not necessarily so, I know plenty of Polynesian guys who are very happy just to use Body Shimmer over their natural colour. I don't think it gives you the best result IMO, but they are quite happy with what they achieve. As I have said before, I know lots of African Americans who use contest colour because their skin colouring does'nt suit the lighting arrangements at the show. I always think you should have some type of base tan anyway, then Body shimmer will look it's absolute best for you. TM
